ROBERT BROWN - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Robert Brown became CT’s Executive Director in January, 2007.  When he first met with the Board of Directors in late November, 2006, he shared with them how he and his wife had gone to Africa and had their hearts broken.  Though he had invested his life as the pastor of local churches, he sensed that he had to do more – he had to devote all of his time, energy, and passion to awakening the North American Church to the African HIV/AIDS pandemic and then help North American and African Churches to engage in mutually enriching, transformational partnerships.

After graduating from Baylor University in 1981, he and his wife, Debora, moved to Louisville, Kentucky to enroll at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity in 1984 and a Ph. D. in New Testament Studies in 1991.  Along the way, Robert and Debora were blessed with a son, Jonathan, in 1986, and a daughter, Kristen, in 1987.  Since then, they have adopted a daughter named Joy from China and a special-needs son named Lawrence from Arkansas.

Make no mistake, Robert is passionate about helping the African Church, but he is just as passionate about helping the North American Church.  He served as the Sr. Pastor of three different churches covering a span of almost 25 years.  He knows something about the condition of the Church in North America and he believes that the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa is not only the greatest crisis of our day, but that it is also the greatest opportunity for the Church to rise up and take action as the hands, feet, and heart of God!

This is a wake-up call for the Church in North America and Robert is committed to doing all that he can to help interested Churches learn how to transform not only Africa, but North America as well.  Robert would gladly welcome the opportunity to talk with you, meet you, and discuss how CT might be able to help you and your Church maximize your Kingdom potential!
